Welcome to The Quantum Vibe
First issue is out! Here is what this newsletter will have for you in the upcoming issues.
Hey there!
I am Arpit, a condensed matter theorist on a journey to unravel secrets of solids and surrounding quantum world. Through The Quantum Vibe, I aim to communicate my reflections on the recent developments in physics, and share snippets of a physics researcher’s life which many people might be able to relate with. From general audience to new researchers and experts, this newsletter will have something for everyone.
Broadly, each issue of The Quantum Vibe will have three sections: ‘Quantum Leaps and Bounds?’, ‘Living the scientific life’ and, ‘Expert’s arena: cond-mat arXiv forum’. Here’s what each section will have:
Quantum Leaps and Bounds
Scientists are constantly exploring why our natural world behaves in a quantum manner. This question lies at the heart of much of today's cutting-edge physics research, and in this section, I will provide a brief overview of the latest developments in the field, along with my personal reflections.
Living the scientific life
Researchers require a diverse set of skills in order to conceptualise and visualise complex phenomena, and effectively communicate results to the community. In this journey they become a writer, graphic designer, productivity ninja and what not. In this section, I will share how these developments have come through in my life and how each researcher follows his/her own path.
Experts’ arena: cond-mat arXiv forum
My area of research is condensed matter physics and I keep myself updated about the field from daily postings on arXiv.org. In this section, I will talk about arXiv preprints that I find interesting. It would be great to hear from fellow condensed matter people and experts from the science community.
I hope The Quantum Vibe brings something new for you. Please stay tuned for the upcoming issues. Welcome aboard!
